Community Trainings & Workshops
WORKSHOPS
Our workshops introduce the foundations of Restorative Justice and Conflict Resolution, exploring topics such as accountability, apologies, conflict, power, and communication tools. Emphasizing practical skill development, participants learn to apply restorative approaches to both preventative and responsive situations.
Grounded in Peacemaking Circle practices, sessions are interactive and activity-based—blending hands-on practice, reflection, and peer learning in a supportive space. Participants strengthen courage, confidence, and leadership while deepening their reflective practice around conflict.
Adaptable to each setting, these trainings can be customized to meet the unique needs and goals of your organization, business, school, or community group. They’re ideal for teams looking to strengthen communication, accountability, and connection.
An example offering, based on a 4-part series of 3-hour workshops:
Introduction to Restorative Practices
Participants will explore the foundations of Restorative Justice and Restorative Practices, unpacking core values such as respect, accountability, empathy, and relationship-building. Together, we’ll discover how these principles can be applied in everyday life and relationships, deepening understanding of what it means to take a restorative approach to harm, conflict, and community. The session offers both personal insight and practical tools for communication, connection, and repair.
Accountability & Apologies
In this workshop, we’ll explore what it really means to take accountability when harm happens. Together, we’ll reflect on the difference between shame and guilt, and how to move from recognition into meaningful repair through the essential steps of a good apology.
Conflict & Power
This session unpacks the dynamics of power and how they shape conflict and relationships. Participants will explore their personal conflict styles, reflect on different kinds of power, and practice seeing conflict not as a disaster, but as an opportunity for growth and connection.
Communication Tools
In this workshop, we’ll build core communication skills to strengthen relationships and resolve misunderstandings. Through activities and reflection, participants will practice communication tools that support listening, asking good questions, and checking for understanding, with a focus on leaning into curiosity instead of assumptions.
RESTORATIVE JUSTICE CIRCLE KEEPER TRAINING
This three-day training equips participants to facilitate Restorative Justice Circles in their organizations and communities. Through experiential learning, participants will explore the principles and values of Restorative Justice, the structure and process of Peacemaking Circles, and tools for leading restorative conversations and chats.
The training offers hands-on practice in Circle facilitation, along with opportunities to reflect on the complexities and challenges that arise in restorative processes. Participants will leave with increased confidence, clarity, and practical skills to hold space for dialogue, accountability, and repair in their workplaces, schools, and community settings.
